At Winchester safety what issue was the “Circle VP” for “Considered Proved” stamp placed on the underside of your barrel–following the large load screening, the “VP” being applied after the Visible inspection of the barrel? The “VP” is identified on each and every 1892 and 1894 barrel I have noticed from the start to the end of production, bridging the date for the looks of the “WP”. Then why the addition of the “WP”—I admit I'm no history buff, just curious regarding the reasoning for your “WP”.
